TATA INDIGO- First Indigenous Sedan Car
Tata Indigo was introduced by Tata Motors in 2002. Tata Indigo was first of Indian sedan cars. The car is a sedan version of Tata Indica, that’s why it shares some similar parts with Indica. Tata Indigo got a great success from the day of its launched and the key reason was its value for money. Tata Indigo offers great comfort and luxury at a very economical price. This car has become favourite of Indian customers as it has got so many Indian features which suit on Indian roads. When car was launched it was launched with turbo-diesel engine & petrol engines. After that some more modifications had done by adding ‘TDI’ and Dicor engines. The Tata Indigo has become one of the most popular cars in Sedan models of the Indian Auto market. VARIANTS
Basically Tata Indigo is available in diesel and petrol engines. Tata Indigo has six variants-out of six three of them are available in petrol variants and rest are available in diesel variants. The petrol engine variants are GLE, GLS and GLX. Diesel versions available in LX and LS. The price of the Tata Indigo varies from 4.75 lakhs to 5.90 lakhs.

DESIGN & COMFORT

Tata Indigo went through the change in design before three years and the new look of the car is much more trendy and fresh. The very attractive headlamps and impressive grille have changed its exterior. The seats are made in such a way, it offers very relaxing and comfortable ride. The petrol version is available in Beige colour interior while the diesel one has got black colour leather.

ENGINE
Tata Indigo is available in two engines- Petrol & Diesel. The petrol variants are equipped with 1396cc MPFI engine. This MPFI engine has got 32-bit microprocessor. The power generates by this engine is 85 ps @ 5500 rpm. This engine generates maximum torque of 122 Nm @ 3500 rpm. The diesel variant of Tata Indigo is equipped with DIOR (Direct Injection Common Rail) engine. It generates the power of 1396 cc with a 32-bit microprocessor. The maximum torque produced 140 Nm @ 3000 rpm. This is 16 valve engine and it produces 70 ps output at 4000 rpm.
SAFETY
Tata Indio has come up with a very advanced safety features.- they are child safety lock on rear doors, collapsible steering and anti submarine from seats. The petrol variant (GLX) and LX (TDI) are available with audio warning signal for seat belt warning.
