Maruti Suzuki Alto, a small car was launched by Maruti Suzuki Udyog Ltd. in India in 1979.The model was initially introduced in India only but after that it became popular in many countries world wide. The main selling point of the car is its low price and high fuel efficiency.

The Alto is available in four different variants –Maruti Suzuki Alto Standard,Maruti Suzuki Alto LX,Maruti Suzuki Alto Lxi and CNG varients.

It is indias highest selling car and it has crossed the one million production figure in February 2008.

DESIGN

At the first glance its compact look and sturdy built, it’s  just the perfect car for the Indian roads. Nowadays, car has received a couple of changes in the interiors as well as a new sporty looking grille. The bumpers are much more substantial .The new look is available in two different colours like Caribbean Blue and Wine Red.

ENGINE

The Alto is made up of very highly fuel efficient engine which is 796 cc gasoline engine with 4 valves per cylinder that serves up 46.3bhp worth of power and 62 Nm of touque. All models have five manual transmission. The top speed of the car is137km/hr(85 mph) and max. Acceleration is 0-100 km/h :approx.20 seconds.

PERFORMANCE

Maruti Suzuki Alto is well equipped with ample interior comforts, power steering, a super cool A.C. and cup holders. The safety features include child safety lock, side impact door reams, clear  head lamps, front and rear seatbelts and boosters. The ride is really pleasant and comfortable in Alto.
